Looks like some top darts thrown this week with some top averages in all grades. A couple of 60’s in B Reserve and those mid 50’s in the lower grades would be fine in A Grade the way some of us are going so well done you blokes.

Unfortunately at the time of writing we have not had results sent in from B Reserve Old Easts v Kardy Kats so we have no idea who won and as a result, the ladder for you blokes will not be quite correct.

14 180’s on the night and an overall group average around the 77 mark, it was a steady night of tungsten action. Damon, Kim and Mick winning all their games on the night and with Dave dropping points against an in form Tim Pusey and a draw with Brad, Damon stretches his lead at the top to 8 points having played 2 games more. Joe Salter registered his first point of the season and posted his highest average to date after remembering his glasses this week.

Lots of 100+ finishes this week, the pick of them from Peter Sutton with a 136. On to week 6 and the battle for 2nd place is tightening up with 3 players separated by just one point, can anybody catch the early runaway leader?

Freo once again did themselves proud by bringing home a couple of medals in 2017. Unfortunately this year we had to settle for one gold (Divvy 2) and one silver (Divvy 1) compared to last years 2 x gold but hey, top effort regardless.

Special mentions to Mitch Clark who continues his growth in the sport and making his Team 1, Division 1 debut and finishing the weekend with an average not to be sniffed at.

Matt Moody stepped up this season into the No 2 team and topped the averages for that side.

Peter Daines came into our No 3 side as did Elton Davies fresh from his Under 50 singles win and thanks also to Glen Price for filling in on the Sunday. Given the author was a culprit, I’ll be the first to say that three of us who should’ve done much better in this side didn’t but this morning the sun did rise and tomorrow is another day.

Well done all for putting in the commitment and representing FDDA over the weekend and a very special mention to our wonderful team of FDDA volunteers over the weekend:

Kristina Gallacher and Alley Liddell on the books, Pat Gallacher, Glen McLeod and Ossie Ford all non playing captains along with Phil Cummins and Daniel Barrett who also helped with the books on Sunday.

Week 4 saw Damon Heta return to the top of the ladder with 3 wins on the night a 94.18 average and 7 180’s. Brad, Tim and Graham were absent on the night so some other fixtures were played to make up the 12 matches.

The quality was high again, Mick Zdun continuing his good form and was unlucky to lose 2 of his 3 matches. Kim Lewis and Dave Charnock played out a draw with Dave coming from 5-2 down to share the spoils. Joe Salter chipped in with a 117 peg in his match against Matt Brown but the latter ran out a comfortable winner 6-2. Mick Zdun pegged 146 in a close game with Damo and Peter Sutton came from 5-0 down against Steve Doherty for a point and then added 2 wins to take home 5 points on the night.

The ladder is starting to take shape but still plenty of games and points left for players to make their move.

Well what a way to start week 3 Damon Heta in blistering form averaging 111.63 in his first match of the evening against Steve Doherty, great darts. Dave Charnock managed to take a share of the points against Damon in a close second game with Damon winning the last leg to take a draw 5-5. Brad Austen kept up the good form with 2 wins and a draw on the night and now leads the way on 13 points having played a game more than Damon in second on 11 points. Mick Zdun and Peter Sutton both returning to form and unbeaten on the night, both taking 3 points home with steady averages. Highest finish of the night came from Peter Sutton with a 121 check out and lots of maximums again with Damo hitting 5 on the night.

Joe Salter has come in for Mick Threlfall who unfortunately had to withdraw from this years competition. Mick’s results from Week 1 and Week 2 have been voided and Joe will get a chance to catch up those fixtures whilst it is still early in the season, apologies to the guys that have registered wins against Mick.

FDDA Premier League Week 2 saw the first draws of the season as 2 games ended all square at 5-5. Graham Parker coming from 5-2 down for a draw against Tim Pusey and then Peter Sutton sharing the points with Kim Lewis who returned after missing week one.

2 wins on the night for Damon Heta Brad Austen and Dave Charnock. Matt Brown with one win and the two highest pegs of the night 156 and 150. Stand out game was Tim v Damon with Damon winning the last three legs in 13 shots to take a 6-4 win from 4-3 down.
